Frequently Asked Questions

RATES

55-minute individual or relationship session  -  $150

Fee is due at time of service. I keep a debit or credit card on file using a HIPAA-compliant program called Ivy Pay to make payments as hassle-free for clients as possible. I offer an 85-minute session length to accommodate the need for more time during family or couples sessions. Generally, sessions run 55 minutes.

In order to make therapy more accessible to folks, I offer a select number of sliding scale spots. Sliding scale fee starts at $90 for a 55-minute session. I understand that money can be a sensitive topic of conversation; please feel free to reach out if you have questions about fees or sliding scale options.
GETTING STARTED

Send me a message from the Contact page or leave me a voicemail. I will contact you during my next office day to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation. During the conversation, we will discuss what you would like to work on, and if we could be a good fit. If we both decide to proceed, we will schedule an initial in-person session at my office. Before the appointment, I will send you an invitation to a HIPAA-compliant online portal where you complete and sign the electronic intake documents.
VIDEO THERAPY

Video sessions are available for some clients after we have met several times in-person and established a relationship. I use a HIPAA compliant program to keep our video sessions confidential. Please bring this up during session if you would like to know more.
INSURANCE

I am not currently paneled with any insurance companies, however I am able to provide you with an invoice (superbill) to send into your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement. I suggest that you call your insurance carrier to verify out of network coverage.

You will need to ask your insurance provider the following:
  • Does my plan cover out of network providers?
  • What is my out of network deductible and have I met it yet this year?
  • Will you cover services by an LMFT?
  • What is the out-of-network reimbursement rate for billing 90837?
DURATION AND FREQUENCY OF THERAPY

Unless there is prior arrangement, all client sessions will take place weekly at a consistent weekday and time. Biweekly sessions are available after we have worked together for at least a few months and have established a trusting, therapeutic relationship. All of these decisions will be made together during session as a part of treatment.

The length of our time working together depends on many factors: Your goals for treatment, other factors in your life that may impact our work, possible new areas for growth that you may discover as we work together, etc. I have worked with clients for as little as a few months, to as long as several years. We will check in throughout our time working together to assess progress made and discuss when ending therapy is beneficial to you.
CANCELLATION POLICY

Any cancellations need to be communicated to me by email, phone, or text at least 48 business hours before the appointment time. (Office days are Monday-Thursday). Any cancellations that occur in less than 48 hours hours will be charged the full session fee. That said, I understand that emergencies and illness happen. To accommodate an unexpected need to cancel, I offer one free late cancel per client, per calendar year.
